Yes: Upper(Maxillary) Wisdom teeth removal can cause swelling after surgery. Any time you have any type of surgery there is a possibility of pain and swelling postoperatively and wisdom teeth are no exception. The amount varies from person to person and is also related to the difficulty of the surgery itself. Some surgeons use medications which can help decrease the amount of swelling postoperatively

Yes: Whether or not you have swelling after the removal of your upper wisdom teeth may depend on several factors, i.e., impacted vs erupted, the level of difficulty in removing them, experience and technique of the person removing them, any meds given at the time of surgery, quality of postop instructions provided and followed, and your facial profile.
