A member asked:

Wondering if anyone else hallucinates in their sleep at night and what this means?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sleep hallucinations: Sleep hallucinations are predominantly visual but may occur in any of the sensory modalities. They are often related to the transitions of falling asleep or waking up where they are called hypnagogic or hypnopompic hallucinations respectively. While they may be part of narcolepsy they are often benign. It is estimated that about 25% of the population possibly will experience this at some point in their life. If you are concerned i would recommend you see a sleep disorders specialist for an overnight sleep study to see whether these are primary or secondary. Best wishes.
