A member asked:

Please tell me if you can get lung or throat/mouth cancer if you've smoked for only 9 months?

Very unlikely: Have you quit smoking? If you smoked only 9 months and are now not using tobacco, your risk for cancer is only marginally higher than that of a person who never smoked. A small number of cancers do occur people who never used tobacco.

Unlikely: Very unlikely. A good time to quit.
