Only if .....: Your wisdom teeth are in poor position, heavily decayed or are causing problems with adjacent teeth. Pre-historic humans typically had a longer jaw that could accommodate 3rd molars but today, most people do not have enough room for them so they need to be removed. See your dentist or oral surgeon for evaluation.

If indicated: Wisdom teeth are indicated for removal if they are erupted with non-restorable decay, advanced periodontal problems, contributing to pathology with adjacent teeth or structures or non-fuinctional. Impacted or unerutped wisdom teeth are ideally removed before the roots are fully developed, with pathology, contributing to problems with adjacent teeth or structures and/or if inadequate space.

Depends: If the wisdom teeth are fully erupted and are kept clean and decay free, then extracting them is your decision. The wisdom teeth are hard to get to most of the time or may be partially or fully impacted in the soft tissue or bone. Most people are recommended to get the teeth out at a younger age since as you get older, the bone surrounding the teeth gets more dense or become aligned poorly.
