As far as I know, there is no difference in quitting strategies for those who only smoke when it is dark out, and for those who smoke at all hours of day and night. A formal smoking cessation program doubles chances of quitting and staying quit, and combining this with meds either nicotine replacement (patches, gum etc.) or bupropion or Chantix increases quit rates to 40%
