Probably not: Sertraline does not guarantee weight loss although some patients would spontaneously lose weight due to the side effects of the medication or the treatment of an atypical depression. It is not common to see massive weight changes on sertraline and some patients would even gain weight on sertraline. I would talk more with your physician about these considerations in your treatment. Stay safe!
