A 39-year-old member asked:

Unlikely: Any thing is possible, but is extremely unlikely for a 25 year old to get lung cancer. There is discrepancy in your stated age of 25 and the age in your profile- 39 years.
Dr. Craig Carter
Thoracic Surgery 40 years experience
Possibly: It depends on your risk factors, but in general, it is unlikely in someone your age. If you are a cigarette smoker, your chances go up with time.

Various cell types: Endometrial cancer is characterized by stage and cell type. Clear cell is a description of the type of cells and simply behave in a more aggressive growth pattern than others.
Dr. Lester Thompson
Pathology 33 years experience
The clear cell doesn't make it more aggressive, but it is a description of the cell type. Endometrial or ovarian cancer when it is poorly differentiated (grade 3) has a more aggressive behavior, made more so when stage is include (extent of disease).

Might it be that a a 20 or 25- year old get lung cancer?

Dr. Creighton Wright

Yes : Smoking, and some other carcinogens cause your own cells to be irritated, transform, then become malignant , and then grow a mass and then can metastasize in the process of cancer. Can happen at any age but more common with abuse and age! young people can also have other malignancies, lymphomas, metastases that come to lung!
