What are your chances of getting lung cancer if you only smoked once?

Dr. Kris Gast answered

TOB and CA: The studies show that the risk of lung cancer goes up with the more you smoke. Pts are considered at high risk for lung cancer if they smoked one pack a day for 30 years. Or 2 packs a day for 15 years.. and so on. Smoking once in your life will not raise your risk of lung cancer.
