You can try pain ---: Meds like Ibuprofen or aleve (naproxen) (if no side effects or allergy). Stronger pain meds like tramadol might be helpful. Supporting the chest with a pillow or hand (s) when coughing or applying a support adhesive might also be recommended. You will need xrays to confirm the fracture ; to monitor the progress of the healing. The risk of cancer from such small doses of radiation is very very small.
