Flu Vaccination:: No contraindication. I will not wait for the 10 year with asthma, it is already overdue. For the 11 year, you can wait until next week. For both, injectable one will be better choice.

Wait after recovery: I prefer to wait for either a viral infection to have completely gone or asthma gets under reasonable control before giving flu shots. However this is just my opinion. Theoretically there may be a reduced immune response to flu vaccine during a viral infection but in practice this may not be that important.
