Rabies virus: No it cannot be killed by drinking water. If there is any animal bite and risk of rabies, you need to go right away to the emergency room to receive a series of vaccination and wound care.

Even if you have not knowledgeably been bitten, if you have in any way been around bats it might be a good idea to do the same thing suggested by Dr. Baltagi. She knows her stuff.
