Gout: Gout is the only inflammatory condition where being 'cold' or icing is contra-indicated. You want to keep the area warm to reduce swelling and help to reconstitute the gout crystals to get the area well again. Read about gout on our blog at www.Apachefoot.Com.

Hot and Cold: Gout usually presents with 'burning/hot' and swelling (at least during an attack). If your immediate gout site is 'fairly chilly, ' this is not related to the gout. Consider consulting with your family doctor or podiatrist and have your pulses evaluated. In the meantime, i see no problem with keeping is wrapped for warmth, but comprising the site is not advised.
