Yes, death possible: You'll need to see your family doctor to see if your excessive sleepiness is due to poor nutrition. Many cases of excessive sleepiness are due to depression. Sleep apnea and many of the other sleep disorders can cause excessive daytime sleepiness as well. Talk to your family doctor about these issues and i'm sure that he can examine you and order proper blood tests followed by a sleep study if necessary and psychiatric treatment as well.
