Killing Lyme: Jarisch-herxheimer reaction comes from dying spirochetes releasing inflammatory molecules, producing muscle aches, fever, headache, rapid heart rate, and possibly joint pain. Treatment of this reaction is symptomatic, with meds to control fever and pain. It may be short-lived or persist for weeks; work closely with your treating physician in this regard. Good luck!

Unlikely: Second neurology or rheumatology opinion would be useful, as there has been alleged lyme disease neurologic problems claimed - but most experts question that speculation.
