It is unhealthy: Binge eating can impact your health negatively, as bingeing often leads to weight gain and increased hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, and more. Psychologically, there is often a lot of shame attached to bingeing. The behavior may undermines your self esteem and cause depression and anxiety. Some people avoid social interaction with others so they can eat alone and become isolated.
