Diabetic retinopathy: The best person to ask your question is an ophthalmologist (o). Diabetic retinopathy (dr) has different severity in different people. Mitigating factors making it less severe are good BP and glucose control. The worse these are controlled, the worse the dr will be. See a o, have an examination and your question will be answered better in a more meaningful way. Good luck.

In early stages. : Most forms of diabetic retinopathy are highly treatable with good prognosis if caught in its early stages. Therefore, every diabetic should have an annual dilated eye exam by an ophthalmologist or retina specialist to screen for onset of diabetic retinopathy.
