New facial rash: A new facial rash associated with facial swelling, severe itching, difficulty swallowing, respiratory distress, very high fever, vomiting or severe symptoms warrants an emergency room visit. Less severe symptoms can likely be managed by your primary care physician or a non-urgent walk in facility. Rashes caused by mild allergic reactions usually improve with oral antihistamines.
