What is the proper first aid for fever in children?

2 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Fever: If the child is less than a year old see a doctor immediately. If older, you can use low dose Acetaminophen or place child in a tepid bath and rub their skin down briskly with wash cloth. Generally, however, unless the child is uncomfortable there is evidence that fever is one way in which the body helps rid us of disease, and therefore no treatment may be necessary. Would have to see the child.
