Please tell me the difference between tummy tuck and liposuction?

Tummy tuck: If you look at yourtummyand notice hanging skin, perhaps from pregnancy or weight loss (or both) then tummy tuck would probably be the right option. If there is only minimal loose skin and some fatty deposition, liposuction may bea good choice.

Lipo vs Tummy tuck: Dear beani: liposuction is a less invasive procedure used to remove fat with vacuum suction, cannulas and small incisions. It does nothing for underlying muscle. Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is a incisional procedure that tightens the rectus abdominis muscle and removes the excess skin-soft tissue envelope. It includes a low transverse incision and umbilicoplasty. Liposuction can be included.

Comprehensive v fat: Whereas the abdominoplasty treats all components of the abdominal wall (skin, fat and muscle), liposuction only removes fat and does not address loose skin or separated muscles.

Many...: Tummy tuck surgery serves to remove the “excess” skin ( majority of stretch marks for most patients)  and reapproximate the abdominal wall muscles that have spread with pregnancy and/or weight gain/loss. Liposuction surgery simply involves suction removal of adipose tissue; good candidates are patients who present with diet and exercise resistant adipose tissue over localized body parts.

Skin ; Fat: Liposuction removes fat beneath the skin, but it does not remove any loose skin from the abdomen. A tummy tuck removes both loose skin and excess fat, as well as tightening the abdominal muscles if necessary.

The difference is the issue that each of these two procedures addresses. A tummy tuck removes excess skin and tightens the abdominal muscles. On the other hand, liposuction gets rid of unwanted, excess fat from multiple areas in the body such as the abdomen, arms, calves, buttocks, chest, and back, among others.
