Post op burning: Whenever they cut through your skin for surgery, there is the possibility that they injure a cutaneous nerve in the skin (which are small, hard to see, and all over the skin to give you sensation). These will heal eventually in most cases, but it can cause either numbness or burning. The other possibility is, if this happens months to years after surgery, is that a nerve is trapped in the scar.
