Possible: Hematomas often form in the area of the gallbladder after the gallbladder is removed. This can cause lingering pain that goes away as the hematoma is absorbed. You may also just have sore ribs from cough. You could also have a pneumonia in your lower lungs causing the pain. You should see both your doctor and surgeon to evaluate.
