Plantar fasciitis: Foot pain caused by plantar fasciitis can often be alleviated with anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen or naprosyn (naproxen). Even better treatment includes stretching the fascia of the sole. This can easily be accomplished by rolling a tennis ball under the foot daily or wearing insoles that increase the arch of your foot.

Medication may help.: If your plantar fasciitis is new, and still in the acute stages, yes, an antiinflammatory medication may help. See your doctor to discuss what prescription may be right for you. However, if your plantar fasciitis has been going on for a long time and has become a chronic problem, medication alone most likely will not fix the problem.
