Depends: Rogaine (minoxidil) though a non prescription drug contains Minoxidil at a low dose with possible adverse effects and contraindications. At 22 it may be early to have enough hair loss to require rogaine (minoxidil) hence the doctor may help rule out mefical causes of hair loss.
