A member asked:

What is the visual difference between a minor and major burn? how do i know if it is something i can treat at home vs see a doctor for? my skin is showing under the first layer and it is pinkish white. is this something i can treat myself?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The immediate risk of burns increases with the increase in area involved. Long term consequences depend on the depth of burns. Ig is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. Burn on the face or hands would require more attention than in another area. If you have any concern, please consult a doctor. Apply triple antibiotic cream to the affected area.
