Not an anesthetic: Lorazepam is not an anesthetic agent, so you would need other medications for a surgical procedure. Some doctors might prescribe Lorazepam for relaxation before the surgical procedure though. All this -- including what are safe or appropriate doses -- would be managed by your anesthesiologist.
