A member asked:

Hi. i have abpa. i have now been diagnosed with mai with a sputum culture and lung infections that are not responding to prednis...how should i treat?

Tough case: This is more than we can handle here at healthtap. Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis is best treated by treating the underlying asthma, but if mycobacteria have grown and there is the possibility that they represent a superinfection, continuing the Prednisone may be a problem. You need a good pulmonary infectious disease subspecialist. Wishing you good luck.
