Tendinitis: Patellar tendinitis can cause pain under your patella. Are u a jumper? Usually gets better with rest , ice compression and elevation. It can be mild to severe, if youre unable to walk then you need an mri.

I think you certain-: Ly have the it band issue. You probably need therapy for stretching exercises, maybe us would also help. These and the pain meds you are taking should resolve the problem. The natural history of such an issue is that they do resolve over a period of time ( maybe 3-5 yrs) or longer. Do see your orhopod to exclude any other associated condition in the knee. Good luck.0.
