I have ibs and a.m. but now agony with the right side of stomach for a week (stabbing). havent been able to eat or drink. could it be something else?

Yes: Pain not allowing you to eat or drink maybe something much more serious than ibs. Ibs is a syndrome of discomfort and by definition does not result in damage to the body. But there are other diseases that are potentially life threatening that are similar. Ulcer disease, gallbladder stones and pancreatitis are three that come to mind. See your physician!
