Skin irritation: Skin irritation can have several causes. If no rash is present, then itching is usually related to irritated or dry skin. Alcohol is particularly drying as it causes renal water loss, but is also a trigger for histamine release. Bathing with hot water can also cause irritation/dryness. Be sure to moisturize aggressively with non-alcohol containing lotion (eg Vanicream). Cetirizine may help too
