A member asked:

Can the thalamus be associated with any kind of seizures?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Critical importance: It is clear that the thalamus plays a substantial role in seizure generalization and brain region interconnections, but is not usually the source of seizure origination, even in those folks who have had prior strokes. In yrs past, the thought of cerebellar electrical stimulation to affect thalamic function, was considered to control seizure activity.
