Retina surgery : Can sometimes cause significant eye discomfort. Based on the type of surgery and if there were any complications, your eye surgeon can prescribe pain medication. If you are having significant pain, then make sure you let them know.

Yes: Some experience pain after invasive retinal surgery, mostly because the fellow eye is moving and that causes motion of the operated eye. The need for this medication is generally over in several days.
