Important decision: Not knowing your total history, i can't give you any definitive advice other than to have this discussion with your psychiatrist and your obgyn. The risk of harm to your fetus is low with these medications. The risk of not taking antidepressants is considerable also, so that also needs to be weighed. You don't need anti-: depressants to treat depression. Mainstream psychiatry recognizes that psychotherapy and self-help programs are just as effective as medication after 1 month. This is new, so it will take some time for the message to filter out. Exception: severe depression in need of immediate medical therapy. It is always possible to have adverse effects of a drug on the fetus. Some are more risky.
