Reflux: Sounds like you could be having gastroesophageal reflux during the night. When the acid come up into the throat it can cause irritation, sore throat as well as sour taste. Avoid eating at least 3 hours prior to lying down to go to sleep. Spicy food, caffeine (coffee), acidic foods can actually make this problem worse with time. Changing your diet and taking digestive enzymes with meals can help.
