A member asked:

Cipro (ciprofloxacin) tap is it harmful to pregnant women?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ciprofloxacin: Animal studies don't show embryotoxicity or teratogenicity, although in some animal studies it resulted in increased incidence of abortion. No controlled data in humans is available but Ciprofloxacin has been shown to distribute into amniotic fluid. A review by the teratogen system found that a substantial risk is unlikely; however, there were insufficient data to exclude the possibility.
