Is it possible for you to have a positive ovulation test result and not ovulate?

Yes : The ovulation kit only measures a threshold of the hormone lh. Some women constantly have a lh above this level. Therefore they would seem to have a positive surge when in fact the lh level is high. Because this is a urine test the concentration will also change with the dilution of the urine.
