The test: The ovulation predictor test is a test for LH ( lutenizing hormone). The LH surge triggers ovulation. Its sensitivity is set for a level consistent with the rise in LH which is not the same for everyone so it becomes positive when the LH reaches a certain level. This is not necessarily the peak of the surge and it stays positive as long as the LH is above that level. Hope this helps.
