Ask your doc: I am not an OBGYN doctor but as long as your wound is healed and you had no complications then I would tell you get started. Obviously you want to start with simple exercises that you can perform with no pain. My advice is if the exercise you are doing feels comfortable while doing it and leaves no lingering pain a few hours / days later, then go ahead and continue it. Each week inc intensity.

Lightly: I tell my patients that walking is great, but try to avoid lifting more than 20 pounds for 6 wks after an abdominal operation.
