No: Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is by prescription only in most states. It is fairly inexpensive to get it directly from a dentist or by prescription. In the mean time, proper oral hygiene and warm salt water rinses can work very well.

Chlorhexidine: Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is prescribed together with treatment of gingivitis or periodontitis. It is not a stand alone product to solve gingival issues, and that is why it is dispensed with a prescription. See your local dentist if you have gingival irritation.
