Very DIfferent: Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is an oral anti biotic which affects harmful bacteria.. Listerine, contains alcohol which will kill bacteria and dry out your mucous membranes. Use Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) upon your doctor's recommendation. Use listerine as an adjunct to brushing and flossing to keep your mouth clean and feeling good.

Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) : Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is a stronger antimicrobial than listerine. Listerine is good and will reduce gingivitis, but the active ingredient in Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) (chlorhexidine) is a more powerful.

Depends: What are you looking for. One is by prescription for gum issues and the other is a over the counter rinse. So i would need to know what your oral condition is before making a recommendation.

Listerine is Better: because is almost as effective in killing plaque organisms as peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) and has the advantage of being sold as a generic. It is also available without a prescription and is much less expensive and doesn't stain teeth.
