Not recommended: Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is a Rx rinse that is recommended and is more effective than Listerine due to its lasting effect after the rinse has been used. Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) actually continues to kill bacteria for up to 60 minutes after rinse.
