YES, morphine is indeed more potent than hydrocodone, BUT, if she starts getting drowsy on the new prescription, that is a sign of looming trouble, and needs reporting ASAP. Opioids are two-edged swords, and certainly do have risks. Close coordination with your doctor is imperative!
