A member asked:

Does having braces cause gum receding?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not smart: Braces don't cause gum recession. Improper oral hygiene and/or positioning teeth outside of proper bone support can cause recession. If concerned, ask your orthodontic specialist and your general dentist to have you evaluated by a periodontist.
