Yes it is possible: and very common because you are chewing only on the opposite side of your mouth. Chewing on only one side of the jaw can lead to TMJ problems and earache is one of the symptoms.

Directly, no: Referred pain to the same side of head and face is quite common. Ear pain can be caused by a number of things, including sinus infection, grinding your teeth, and even a different tooth. When was your last regular check up with radiographs? Was the root canal necessary due to emergency pain after a lapse in dental care? Have your local dentist give you a complete exam, and the cause will be found.
