Varies: The type of antibiotic used to treat a dental infection depends on the severity and type of infection, and your medical history. You should see a physician or dentist as soon as you can.

Depends: It depends on the bacteria causing the infection, and above all you health history. Allergies to meds play a role in what is prescribed to you. Since we don't have your health history, it is not prudent to advise you of what to take. Additionally, the antibiotic does not "fix" the problem... It prolongs the inevitable... A visit to a dentist. Make a call soon to avoid complications.

Follow instructions: Please don't self medicate. Don 't take left-over pills you have in the back of our medicine cabinet. Ask dentist to prescribe the proper medication for your particular problem, follow the instructions on the label exactly, and take them until all gone even if you temporarily feel better. Note that antibiotics don't "cure" an infected tooth, just temporarily controls the infection.
