Very sad: Having served as an emergency psychiatrist in many areas, i can tell you this makes me very sad. Er's do help in crises -- but oftentimes the person is not receiving (or not participating in) outpatient treatments for his/her condition. So things only get worse. These people are suffering, yet may not have resources for long-term mental health treatment. This needs to change.
