Relax: 90% percent of infections caused by cat scratch are a result of repeated scratches. Even then, the disease is self limiting in 95% of patients who do not have immune compromise, (hiv, cancer). Tx is analgesics for pain, tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever. If persistent fever, swelling of lymph nodes occur, than an antibiotic can be considered.
