How long after abdominal surgery can adhesions develop? i had laparoscopic hernia surgery 5-6 years ago. is this possible?

Immediately : Any trauma ( surgery in ur case), causes body to respond. The response is inflammation and this leads to scar tissue. The degree of inflammation and scar varies from patient to patient. If you had hernia surgery, odds are you have adhesions.

Yes it is. Any time: Is a good time to develop adhesions. Old or new. More surgeries = more opportunity for adhesions. Not every surgery develops adhesions. Sometimes they do.
