Mucinex (guaifenesin) dm vs. robitussin dm? i've got a very bad, "dry" cough and lots of "wheezing" the robitussin has done nothing! should i try the mucinex (guaifenesin)?

Yes, except: Be very sure to drink lots and lots of water - both when you take the medicine and all day. Also, please consider a doctor visit to discover if it is pneumonia or some other condition that requires more than symptomatic relief. Catching respiratory disease early can be a very wise decision. Take care of yourself!

Cough: Robitussin dm (guaifenesin and dextromethorphan) and Mucinex dm have same chemicals- dextromethorphan and guaifenesin. Dextromethorphan is cough suppressant and Guaifenesin is cough expectorant. You just will be switching the brand. Wheezing is large airway obstruction problem. See your doctor.
