Yes: Suppressing the cough by going to sleep may be helpful. Increase fluids lots to ease cough. Pain to take a deep breath is concerning, if associated with shortness of breath or wheezing, you should see a physician. If you think you have strained a rib with the coughing, you could see a Chiropractor that offers massage services after adjustment. Most rib pain, at your age, is musculoskeletal.
