gabapentin is otc in south africa. along with other meds that are restricted elsewhere. any idea why?

MCC: South africa's equivalent of the fda (food and drug administration) in the usa, is the medicines control council (mcc). The 2 organizations apparently have different criteria for regulating medications. Each country has its own organization, and makes independent decisions about such matters -- resulting in the differences you see.
